I’ve starting carrying my camera around with me to get shots of things that I think would be of interest to you.  Yesterday I noticed coming to work that the moon would be just about behind a drilling rig near the office, so this morning I grabbed my camera and got some shots.

Smartphone cameras are okay, but unless you have a special attachment, you can’t zoom in. It does mean carrying around some extra weight, but I shoot with a Canon Rebel T2i with a 70-300 mm lens. I’ve also gotten into the habit of carrying around a little GoPro camera too. It came in extremely handy when I wanted some footage of my flight with stunt pilot Jan Collmer I posted a few weeks back.

There’s so much beauty in West Texas we take for granted. To see it, all you have to do is slow down...and maybe take a picture.
