Set your alarm for a little before 4 o'clock this Saturday and you'll have enough time to catch the beginning of the celestial event.

On Saturday morning, April 4th, sky watchers in the USA can see a brief but beautiful total eclipse of the Moon. Brief, because as the moon begins to move westward, we will lose sight of it before it goes into total eclipse.

The event will also be visible from Mexico, western Canada, across the entire Pacific Ocean, Australia, Indonesia, and elsewhere.

If you would like to see a representation of the eclipse, locations and times to view it, check out this animated eclipse map from ShadowAndSubstance.com.
