I've been taking some time this month to review and remember the things I am thankful for. Today, I am thankful for my community.

Where you live has a lot to do with the way you look at life. I have lived in West Texas all of my life so I can tell you, I'm thankful that I was raised in one of the nicest places on the planet.

No, I haven't lived in London, New York or LA. I'm sure for some folks, that's the be-all-end-all packed to live for them, but not for me. They have their charms and activities and culture but they don't have one very important thing, the people of West Texas.

People here care about their neighbors. They are a rare breed of folks that live in one of the roughest places in the country, not the prettiest, except for the sunrises and sunsets. They understand the cost of the freedoms they enjoy and show that appreciation like no other non-military community, anywhere!

Their faith runs deep. They understand that it's not the oil economy that feeds them, it is GOD and His Grace.

I am thankful to have been raised here. What are you thankful for?
