Recent Rains in the Permian Basin Expected to Increase Mosquito Population

Rain is always welcomed in the Basin, but not when it helps increase the mosquito population.

According to NewsWest 9, the mosquito population is about to boom and here are some things you can do to prevent a boom in your yard.

First remove any standing water in your yard by spreading it out so it can dry and keeping things like birdbaths equipped with fresh water at all times.

Use larvicides in any standing water to also prevent eggs from hatching since a female mosquito can lay up to 400 eggs and standing water will help to hatch those eggs.
