This weekend you can see not one, but two celestial events begin to take place in the night sky.

A 'supermoon' will rise Sunday night and will appear to be the largest one this year, while the annual Perseid meteor shower will peak next week.

According to NASA, the moon will appear larger than usual because it will be full when it is closest to Earth this weekend. No need to feel bad if you can't discern this difference, only experienced sky watchers would be able to tell the difference.

Also, the Perseid meteor shower will be sending meteors zipping across the sky over the weekend, but scientists expect the shower to truly peak on August 12 and August 13.
