On a recent trip to the ATX, as I'm doing my usual, sleeping in the passenger seat because I get car sick easily, I was awakened by my chauffeur (my man) saying, 'what the heck? Is that Tesla?' For some reason I shot up in my seat. He didn't say is that a Tesla, he said is that Tesla? So since I know a tiny bit about how Elon Musk made the move to Texas and with him is bringing a new billion dollar factory, it totally piqued my interest.

It was definitely one of those, 'well I'm awake now moments.' And I woke up just in time to see this sign:

Peep the massive factory behind it. So on the outskirts of Austin, TX apparently you will exit Tesla Road (on exit 446) and find the future home of the over $1 billion dollar project.

Upon further investigation, and by that I mean, I immediately Googled it, the construction began in the summer of 2021 and is expected to bring over 20,000 jobs to the area. The 'Gigafactory' is pretty close to completion and is about 8 million sq. ft. Take it from me being woken up from my nap that day, this thing is going to be huge!

It's a good thing I wasn't driving, I was in awe, taking pictures left and right. I don't have a problem with Elon Musk in the slightest, I think his full-time move to Texas and the future Tesla headquarters being housed in Austin is super cool. I would love to revisit once it is complete and possibly take a tour. I can't even begin to imagine the technology this thing will have!
