However, a recent announcement from the Food and Drug Administration should have many cautious of enjoying them.

FDA Announces Oysters From Texas Infected With Norovirus

According to Mahoning Matters, the FDA was first warned by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Reports indicated individuals were getting sick. The oysters in question were harvested from Galveston, Texas.

Further investigation revealed the oysters were harvested between November 17th and December 7th. The area identified from where the oysters where from was known as "TX 1."

The FDA also stated that if a person believes they purchased the oysters, they should find out if the oysters were taken from the previously mentioned harvest area. If the purchased oysters packaging was opened, individuals should talk to the seller to discover where they oysters were found.

Norovirus Symptoms

The sickness will cause stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, according to the CDC. Thankfully, sick residents will feel better after a few days.

So, it might be best to stay away from the oysters Texas! Even if you enjoy them frequently.
