This week's dust storm could have a lasting effect on allergies for people in West Texas.

According to NewsWest 9, a lot of people in the area are going to have some allergy issues even though the dust storm was earlier in the week.

Dust, pollen, and other airborne particles can wreak havoc on our sinuses and eyes days following a dust storm.

Allergy clinics and doctor's offices were filled all this week with people having the lingering particles still floating around.

Allergy specialists say there will still be others that will not see symptoms until today or tomorrow and by that time another cold front will be coming thru stirring up even more allergens.

If you are feeling the symptoms of allergies, doctors say the best medicines to take that are available over the counter are Zyrtec, Clairitin, or Flonase. Nasal sprays will help counteract the allergens quicker and will give you relief a lot quicker too.
