Beyonce Joins Forces With Jay Z, DJ Khaled + Future to ‘Top Off’
Hear it from the horse's mouth — on her latest feature, Beyonce's ready to f--- it up.
Bey, husband Jay Z and Future all feature on DJ Khaled's brand new track "Top Off," the first song from Khaled's upcoming 11th studio album, Father of Asahd. And the track, which dropped Friday morning (March 2), is as relentless as it is cutting.
"I'm the only lady, you're still the realest n---- in the room," Beyonce sings toward the middle of the track. "I break the internet, top two and I ain't Number Two / My body, my ice, my cash, all real I'm a triple threat / F--- it up and then leave then f--- it up and leave again."
The song alludes to Meek Mill a number of times — and as Billboard has reported, the track basically serves as Jay's support for Meek, who has been behind bars since November after a series of alleged probation violations. (Jay also mentions his $91,000 bill for Ace of Spades champagne on the track — and, of course, his daughter Blue: "Me and Blue having a sing-off / That's a raspberry beret, the kind you find in a second hand store," he raps with a seamless reference to Prince.)
Already, fans can't get enough of "Top Off" — at least as far as Bey's feature is concerned.
"Beyoncé’s verse on top off... she deserves all the rap awards," one wrote, while another noted "Beyoncé is the best part of 'Top Off,' an otherwise eh song. I really need that rap album from B, though."
