Top 5 Reasons That Texans Suck at Winter Driving
With snowy and icy roads soon to hit us, here are the five reasons Texans are bad at driving on icy roads.
"Slow Down" is Not a Phrase Texans Know
Texans are always in a hurry and want to be at their destination yesterday so having to slow down because of icy roads is almost like telling a Texan they can't have Whataburger or Dr. Pepper ever again.
Texans Are Daredevils
This means an icy road is just another way to show off to friends or themself. Competition is always a thing with Texans so how many times you can spin your car is a challenge, not a danger.
Texans Love Playing Bumper Cars
This of course doesn't bode well for getting out on the streets, if you are at a carnival then go for it, but the roads and highways are not the places to see how many cars you can bump into once the roads ice over but don't tell that to a Texan.
Texans Love a Good Game of "Chicken"
This also is not good when roads are icy but Texans will not back down for a good game of "chicken." Now, this is not the KFC kind of chicken, this is seeing who will dodge first when headed straight for someone head-on.
Texans Have Plenty of Money For Insurance if They Can Get It
Having too many fender benders and claims on your insurance is a badge of honor to most Texans and especially if you live as we do here, in oilfield country. Telling a Texan they might not be able to get insurance goes in one ear and out the other, but tell a Texan he can't get that new Ford F-550 that he wants, and you will see a grown man cry.
Now you know why we shut everything down when icy weather comes to the area, you could run into the Super Texan that wants to prove he is better at driving on ice than someone from New York City, which he isn't.
