This summer’s season of The Bachelorette is truly unlike any season we’ve seen before. Not only are there two bachelorettes this season, but one of the men they might fall in love with is Lubbock’s very own Kirk Bryant.

Bryant works as an Offensive Analyst for Texas Tech University’s football team and is represented on the show as Kirk B., the football coach from Lubbock, Texas.

Unfortunately, he didn't see much screen time in the first episode. All we saw was a clip of him hyping up the bachelorettes with a truly coach-like pep talk upon their first introduction, followed by him doing the same for the other men that will be pursuing Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia alongside Bryant.

Typically, the first episode of the season ends with a rose ceremony that allows the girls to say goodbye to any guys they aren’t interested in. However, continuing the trend of this being a unique season, the girls felt like they didn’t get the chance to speak with every man and couldn’t have their first rose ceremony.

They did say goodbye to three men that they knew they weren’t interested in, and handed out their first impression roses, but as of the first episode, Bryant is still in the game. Based on the editing of the show, I assume they didn’t get a chance to speak with Bryant yet, so hopefully we get to see an interaction between him and the girls in episode two.

Overall, I’m not sure what to expect out of this season. The goal is for both of the girls to find the men of their dreams to get engaged to at the end of the show, but the added drama of the girls possibly being interested in the same man will definitely stir the pot.

I’ll be keeping a close eye on Bryant this season to see how well he represents Lubbock, and have my fingers crossed that he manages to find love.
