Christmas is around the corner in Texas, which means people are coming in from out of town, loved ones are reuniting with their friends, and most importantly, Santa is coming to town with his presents.

TEXANS LOVE GREAT GIFTS!

Most of us Texans are very grateful when receiving gifts. At the end of the day, it is the thought that matters.

That is, unless you get these top three stinker gifts.

The dud presents that I’m about to mention are probably the most offensive you could ever give a Texan. Do not - I repeat, do not - put these on your holiday shopping list or you may wind up on the naughty list indefinitely.

 OU BETTER NOT!

Anybody who has ever been to Texas understands that football is a religion here. I don’t care if you’re a Longhorn fan, a Baylor Bears fan, or even a Texas A&M Aggie -  what you don’t do is gift a Texan with University of Oklahoma apparel.

Devotees of any Texas team can agree that OU is probably the most hated team by a Texan, so don’t press your luck with that.

NO BOOZE? YOU LOSE

It's the time of year to be cheerful and in high spirits, which means the spirits, beer, and wine are flowing. They're the star of any holiday party.

But if you really want to grind the gears of a Texan, bring a nonalcoholic beer to a Christmas party or don't have any booze on the menu and see how quickly you are not invited to the next year's festivities.

Last but not least, this is Texas - land of the best dang barbecue and steaks you’ve ever had in your life! I say this with love, and I hope I don’t offend people from California too badly, but keep that hippie vegan "meat" and tofu on the West Coast. We want no part of that at any holiday event.

My Christmas dinner better consist of a prime rib medium rare with roasted potatoes, or Christmas is going up in flames! (Kidding...sort of.)

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Keep in mind that a lot of this is just jokes and some stereotypes that people think about when they think of us Texans. Oklahoma for sure is not a joke though, so don’t bring that crap into my house.

However you decide to celebrate this holiday season, just make sure you do it with the people you love the most and make sure they know how much you care.
