Severe Thunderstorms Give Early Morning Wake-Up Call
Earlier this morning, a line of severe thunderstorms moved through the Permian Basin with strong winds, nickel size hail and copious amounts of rainfall.
Winds from the line of thunderstorms reached at least 80 miles an hour causing minor damage, broken tree limbs and power outages in some parts of the area. At this time we don't know how much rain fell, but local heavy flooding and stranded vehicles were reported in Odessa and in Midland.
After the clouds in the storms move out later this morning, we will see sunny skies and warm temperatures and a high around 95°. Clear skies tonight with a low of 70. Highs on Wednesday around 96° with partly-sunny skies.
