Presidio City Council voted on a measure to require residents to wear a mask in public even though no cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Presidio County as of April 22.

According to NewsWest 9, the new law is aimed at preventing anyone from getting COVID-19 and they are so serious about it that people that don't comply with the law can be fined up to $1000.

This also includes businesses and all their employees too.

Masks are not required to be N-95 quality, any covering of the nose and mouth either homemade like a bandana or purchased paper masks is considered proper according to the new law.

The new law goes into effect immediately and will be in effect until the city council decides the law can be suspended.
