Two hundred doses of the Moderna vaccine are in at Midland and have been spoken for but you can get on the list for the next round.

According to NewsWest 9, the Pfizer vaccine came in to Midland Health earlier in December but was designated for health care workers at Midland Memorial Hospital.

The Moderna vaccine will cover phase 1B of vaccine distribution which will include healthcare workers, people over 65 and people with medical conditions putting them at a high risk status.

Medical conditions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Cancer
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
  • Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathies
  • Solid organ transplantation
  • Obesity and severe obesity (body mass index of 30 kg/m2 or higher)
  • Pregnancy

Midland Health Department is taking appointments from 8am to 12pm to set up an appointment for vaccinations.

If you fall into the above categories you can get on the list by going to the City of Midland website.

Vaccinations will be scheduled according to the amount of vaccinations on hand and when they will be receiving more doses.

The Midland Health Department is asking for the public's patience as they deal with the volume of calls coming in to get scheduled for the vaccine.
