Penwell Knights Raceway Provides the Need For Speed

Odessa police have stepped up their patrol of a popular drag strip in the city, so a local drag racing track has stepped up to provide that need for speed.

According to NewsWest 9, the Penwell Knights Raceway provides those wanting to race a chance to do it in a safe and legal environment.

For a $20 fee, about $480 cheaper than your average speeding ticket, you can bring your car and a helmet to the racetrack and get in on the racing. If you do not have a helmet, they can provide you with one.

Officials with the track say the fee is just to help the running and upkeep on the facility.

Penwell Knights Raceway opens the gates at 2:00 pm on both Friday and Saturday.
