Odessa Police Warn of New Phone Scam

OPD is warning of a new phone scam going on.

According to NewsWest 9, the scam involves someone using the OPD phone numbers and the man on the phone claiming to be a OPD Lieutenant.

Victims are told they have a "Failure to Appear" warrant and gives them a number to call to make a payment or else they will be arrested.

OPD reminds residents that they never solicit payment over the phone and to hang up if you get a call like that.
