Twenty-five years ago there was quite a buzz surrounding a book featuring the West Texas town of Odessa. Now 25 year later, that Buzz returns and he is bringing friends.

On Tuesday, September 15, Buzz Bissinger will join Pete Berg, director of 'Friday Night Lights', Roy Williams, former Permian Panther, Texas Longhorn and Dallas Cowboy, and Lloyd Hill, 1988 Permian Panther, former Texas Tech Red Raider and Texas Terror at the the Yucca Theatre in downtown Midland to discuss the impact the lights have played in shaping West Texas and high school football nationwide.

The event will start with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. on September 15 and kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds of the event will benefit the Midland County Public Library Foundation that supports projects and programs of the Midland County Public Library including Project Literacy, which runs September 14-18. Other programs supported by the Midland County Public Library Foundation and its donors include Permian Monsters: Life Before the Dinosaurs, Arthur’s World, summer reading programs, and special programs at the library.

Those interested in attending the panel discussion can purchase tickets for $125, which includes admission, a signed copy of the 25th anniversary edition of Friday Night Lights, and concession-style food and drinks.
