Watch Jake Gyllenhaal’s Hilarious Interview With the Boston Marathon Bombing Survivor He Plays in ‘Stronger’

Well, this is a fun and unconventional way to promote a movie. Over on his Facebook page, Jake Gyllenhaal just posted a video of himself with Jeff Bauman, the man he plays in the new biopic Stronger. Bauman was injured in the Boston Marathon bombings; the film chronicles his inspiring journey in that horrific event’s aftermath.

It’s heavy stuff, so this is a nice change of pace. Instead of Gyllenhaal and Bauman very solemnly talking about the terrible things Bauman has endured, they went a very different route. I don’t want to spoil it, watch for yourself:

In my experience (my in-laws are from that area), no one on the planet is better at ball-busting than a New Englander. And Bauman is one of the best of the best. “You ever thought about doing a good movie?” His delivery is amazing, so dry and deadpan. I also like how he says “The Depahhted” with the thick Boston accent.

These two should review all of Jake Gyllenhaal’s movies together. I would watch this as a regular online series. What does Jeff think of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time? I’d really like to know. Here’s Stronger’s official synopsis:
