Child safety advocate Elizabeth Smart will be at Midland College on Tuesday (September 19,2017) to speak and give an informative lecture.

According to NewsWest 9, Smart gained notoriety when she was abducted at knife point from her home in Salt Lake City, Utah in June of 2002 and then was returned home safely nine months later in March of 2003.

She faced her captor and testified against him at his trial after she returned home and has been an advocate for child safety ever since.

She will share her experiences and give an informative lecture at Midland College on Tuesday which is free to the public beginning at 6:30 p.m.
