See The Implosion! This Texas City Just Lost A Great Downtown Building!

Sometimes downtown buildings have to come down. Maybe they have been abandoned for years or maybe the post-safety situations, or maybe it's just what happens when time marches on. This morning, another downtown building was IMPLODED on purpose and was taken down. SEE VIDEO BELOW

• THE WESTERN UNITED LIFE BUILDING IN DOWNTOWN MIDLAND TEXAS!

The Western United Life Building has been empty since the 1990s and its time as part of the Midland Skyline has come to an end. This morning the City of Midland brought down the building with an IMPLOSION.

The Western United Life Building in downtown Midland was located on the Corner of Texas and Colorado in the heart of Midland downtown.

• 6 TO 7 WEEKS TO CLEAR THE DEBRIS

Now that the building has been imploded, the City of Midland says it will have about 18 inches of debris above the sidewalk and the time to clean it all up will be approximately six to seven weeks to clear.
