Husband of Teacher Killed in Uvalde Shooting Dies of Grief
As if the shooting hasn't torn a hole in the Garcia family after the death of Irma Garcia, now her husband has died from grief according to their nephew.
According to News4SA, John Martinez, the nephew of Irma and Joe Garcia posted on Twitter that his uncle died of a broken heart after returning from a memorial service for his wife.
Joe Garcia's official cause of death was a heart attack according to officials. The couple had four children.
The family was going through enough with the death of Irma Garcia Tuesday when a shooter killed her, another teacher, and 19 students at Robb Elementary in Uvalde.
Irma Garcia had been married to her husband Joe for 24 years, just one year more than the years she had been teaching at 23 years.
It's just another sad outcome of the devastation that the shooter caused the small city of Uvalde on Tuesday, May 24th when he shot his grandmother in the face and then went to Robb Elementary, locked himself in a classroom, and slaughtered 19 children and the two teachers before law enforcement forcibly entered the classroom and killed the gunman.
The town of Uvalde now has another death to deal with and questions on why this is happening to the Garcia family and the city of Uvalde.
The latest news on the shooting is that there was not an officer that confronted the gunman as previously reported, he entered the school through an open back door and locked himself in the classroom where the massacre occurred.
More information will be coming out in the next few days and hopefully, we will find out what exactly happened.
