The state of Texas will not shut down even though new cases hit a single day record on Thursday, November 20, 2020.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, Governor Greg Abbott is accusing local leaders of not enforcing restrictions such as mask wearing and social distancing.

Gov. Abbott focused on the arrival of bamlanivimab, the antibody drug that was given to President Trump when he had the Coronavirus.

Even though the antibody is in short supply, more doses could be on the way soon.

Texas has had a mask mandate in place since July, and businesses are continuing to run at reduced occupancy.

But locally Midland and Odessa are both tossing the idea around for a citywide mask mandate, but no one in either city has made the decision to do that.
