Are you feeling a little stressed out lately? A lot of people deal with stress in their lives and for some it comes and goes. Over the last two years dealing with the pandemic, loss of work, loss of family and friends, and even the loss of school has put mental health issues in the spotlight.

The City of Lubbock Health Department along with Prevention Resource Center Region 1, Hub City Outreach Center, and the H.E.A.R.D. Coalition are hosting De-Stress Fest on Thursday, May 19. The event is free and open to everyone in and around Lubbock. The De-Stress Fest will begin at 5:30 p.m. and wrap up at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 19.

According to a press release from the City of Lubbock, kids are also invited to participate and will be able to learn ways of handling stress.

There’ll be FREE food, ice cream, yoga, a video game truck and several other activities to help youth cope with stress.

  • Tru Fit Athletic Clubs

  • Zigote Barn (Bunny Petting Zoo)

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and throughout the month you will hear about different ways to address mental health. This event is just one way the City of Lubbock is attempting to reach out to those who are feeling stressed and attempting to highlight and bring awareness to mental health.
