The City of Odessa is going to soon set up mobile testing units to test citizens for COVID-19.

According to NewsWest 9, the testing will be free which is important to the community.

"There’s a lot of places locally that test, but the cost is relatively high if you don’t have insurance and a lot of our individuals living in our community don’t have insurance. So we thought it was not only a public health effort, but it is just an important part of our community to say we'll bring the testing to you," said Diana Ruiz, one of the women setting up the testing unit.

The cost of the testing will be covered by the CARES Act which will allow the locations to test asymptomatic people.

Testing will begin on June 30 and run through July 30, 2020.
