Gunner grew up in Chicago and left at age 20 to travel the country and work on-air. He's lived all over the place and is now happy to be planted and staying put. When he's not waking up early and hanging out with Gwen on the Lonestar 92.3 Morning Show and playing your favorite country songs, you'll find him in the office working behind the scenes... He is also Brand Manager for Lonestar 92.3 and our sister station, 99.9 KBAT. He's excited to be here and he and his wife Vicki are looking forward to exploring West Texas and taking it all in... playing mini golf, going to movies, or grilling on the patio with the radio on.

3 Things You DON’T Do In Midland Odessa
There are just some things you don't do when you live in West Texas. I'm not talking about things that are actually against the law. I mean common sense things that you do your best to avoid based on the consequences. For example, you don't step off the curb on 42nd Street at JBS Parkway in Odessa when the light isn't in your favor-or you'll get mowed down by traffic. Common sense, right? Things like that escape some folks, unfortunately, so that's why small reminder articles like this one are meant as a public service to help keep everyone safe and on the path to a good day. Having said that, let's get into what the Top 3 things COULD be, depending on several factors like what time of year it is we're discussing this topic, and what age group we're covering:
5 Unwritten Rules Of Midland Odessa
Every community, big or small, rural or city, village or municipality, metropolis or burg... No matter where you live, sleep, work, eat, visit family--there are RULES. No, they may not be written down-but everyone in the area seems to know them by heart. At least, those who've existed in the area for any amount of time greater than, let's say, six months. By then, you should be familiar with the midtown madness; the rural routine; the asphalt jungle jargon. THE WAY. And here in West Texas, it's no exception. The way of life here and the rules that go with it can be broken down into 5 unwritten rules. And they are:
Midland Odessa Pet Of The Week
Yoshi does love to go on walks and is leash trained. He also is potty trained and refuses to go to the bathroom in his kennel. Due to his thick fur, Yoshi would require special grooming and regular brushing. He does suffer from mild allergies that are controlled with a special diet and daily medication. It is time for this boy to know the benefits of being in a furever home where he is loved and spoiled. Please share Yoshi's story to help him find his perfect person or people! Think you are that person? Come meet him during visitation hours and you might just leave with your new best friend.
The Unemployment Rate In Midland Odessa Should Be ZERO
Doesn't matter where you go, what neighborhood you're in, what street you turn down. You can't go ANYWHERE in Midland Odessa without seeing HELP WANTED signs everywhere. EVERYWHERE. Job Fairs spring up and oil companies reserve booth space so they can hire more staff, the service industries in our area seem to be perpetually understaffed because there are ALWAYS signs posted for help (and these jo
When Severe Weather Causes Floods In West Texas–You Go Boating!
I've seen neighbors with Speed Boats on trailers down my street all hitched up to trucks getting ready to pull out and head to a vacation spot in order to be able to enjoy their boats; I'm sure they wish something like this was deep enough so they didn't have to travel somewhere a few hours from here (I've heard that San Angelo is the closest place to do some actual boating or jet ski riding) but since I'm not from here I'm at the mercy of the words of native West Texans. I've only driven THROUGH San Angelo when my wife and I took a trip to San Antonio last year, so you couldn't prove it by me. This is a great example of taking something unpleasant (flooding) and turning it into something fun to do-and I love it.
