Atmos Stops Natural Gas Disconnections and Offers Financial Help For Gas Bills

With everyone staying home over the past few weeks, Atmos Energy has halted gas disconnections for past due bills.

According to NewsWest 9, since everyone has been staying home and energy bills have gone up due to COVID-19, Atmos Energy has stopped natural gas disconnections due to non-payment or late payment and is offering financial help.

“To help those experiencing financial hardship, we have temporarily suspended natural gas disconnections for non-payment and offer payment installment plans. In addition, financial help is available through local assistance agencies,” said Jeff Martinez, Atmos Energy VP of Customer Service.

Local agencies are providing financial assistance also, like the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Prograom (LIHEAP) and Atmos' own service Share the Warmth Fund.
