Midland Parks and Rec has released their schedule of parks reopening across the city.

According to NewsWest 9, here is the list of park re-openings:

  • MLK Community Center gym is open at 25% capacity.
  • I-20 Wildlife Preserve is open with sign in and social distancing required.
  • Beal Skatepark will open Friday May 22, 2020.
  • Security Bank Ballpark Splash Pad opens Saturday, May 23, 2020.
  • Green space at all parks are already open, but playground and equipement in parks will reopen May 22, 2020.
  • Athletic fields will open for practices only with one parent or guardian allowed per player on May 31, 2020. Games on the field will be allowed with spectator social distancing beginning June 15, 2020.
  • Rentals at park pavilions, Beal Ranch House, and MLK Activity Room and Auditorium will begin on May 29, 2020 with only a 25% capacity maximum.

Dennis the Menace Park is the only park that is not scheduled to reopen yet because of maintenance.

City of Midland Parks and Rec Department is currently hiring for lifeguards, pool managers, attendants, and cashiers. You must be at least 15 years old and you can apply through the City of Midland website.
