Andy Samberg’s ‘Tour de Pharmacy’ Cycles Into HBO Trailer, July Debut
At long last, Andy Samberg’s HBO followup to tennis mockumentary 7 Days in Hell is finally here, as the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star takes on the world of competitive cycling. Watch the star-studded first trailer for Tour de Pharmacy, which itself is already doping up for a July premiere.
Now set to bow on Saturday, July 8, the incredible Tour de Pharmacy cast includes John Cena, Daveed Diggs, Orlando Bloom, Freddie Highmore, Jeff Goldblum, Danny Glover, Julia Ormond, Dolph Lundgren, James Marsden, Kevin Bacon, Nathan Fielder, Will Forte, Maya Rudolph, Joe Buck, Mike Tyson, J.J. Abrams, Phylicia Rashad, Chris Webber, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and yes, Lance Armstrong himself.
Here’s the synopsis:
In 1982, during a dark and fictitious time in cycling history, the sport’s most venerable, time-honored race was marred by the doping of virtually all of its competitors. Riddled with nefarious characters, that year’s competition was a hornet’s nest of moral depravity. Through the perspective of five riders, TOUR DE PHARMACY gives an inside look into the grim realities of the darkest event in a sport notoriously tainted by controversy.
Samberg both stars and executive produces a script written by Murray Miller, as directed by 7 Days helmer Jake Szymanski. Stay tuned for more from Tour de Pharmacy’s July premiere.
