5th Street in Odessa Closing to Make Way For Building Demolition

5th Street in Downtown Odessa will be closed through August 1, 2017 for building demolition.

According to NewsWest 9, the demolition of the old JC Penney and Paul Evans Carpet building on 5th and Grant will cause the closure of 5th Street from Grant St. to Texas Ave. for the next two weeks

The demolition is to prepare for a multipurpose building to be built on the site of the old JC Penney and Paul Evans building.

Drivers are encouraged to take other routes for the two weeks of the demolition.
