School Zones Back in Operation in the Permian Basin as School Begins This Week
We haven't had to worry about school zones for a couple months now, but they are back.
According to NewsWest 9, here are some reminders to get you used to school zones as kids go back to school.
If you see a school bus stopped and with lights flashing, do not attempt to go around the bus since kids could be coming off the bus and not watching as they run across the street.
Also you must remain 10 feet behind the bus as it is unloading to allow students to get off the bus and possibly cross the street in front of you.
You can also be stopped if you are going even 2 MPH over the speed limit in a school zone, and remember fines are much more expensive in school zones than they are out of school zones.
