NBC’s ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ Miniseries Adds Jason Isaacs and ‘Suits’ Patrick J. Adams
Surprised though we were to see NBC updating horror classic ‘Rosemary’s Baby‘ as a TV miniseries, our interest went up a notch with the addition of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ star Zoe Saldana in the title role. Now, the cast continues to flesh out with ‘Awake’ and ‘Harry Potter‘ baddie Jason Isaacs, as well as ‘Suits‘ star Patrick J. Adams.
According to Deadline, Adams will take the role of Rosemary’s husband Guy, a character originally portrayed by John Cassavetes in the original 1968 Roman Polanski film. Isaacs on the other hand, having previously led NBC’s well-received, but ultimately cancelled ‘Awake,’ will portray villainous neighbor and (spoiler alert!) warlock/coven-leader Roman Castevet. Sidney Blackmer played the role in the original film.
Apart from shifting the New York setting to Paris, the four-hour NBC remake will otherwise follow the 1968 film’s plot of a young couple who struggle to become pregnant before the resulting conception drives Rosemary to increased paranoia toward her husband and neighbors’ intentions for the child. Scott Abbott and James Wong (‘The X-Files,’ ‘American Horror Story‘) will write the screenplay for the four-hour reboot, while Agnieszka Holland (‘Treme‘) will direct.
The miniseries remake doesn’t yet have an expected premiere, but the cast certainly piques our interest. Are you on board to see what NBC does with a ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ reboot? Take a look at the original below, and tell us what you think!
