Nintendo Attractions to Open in Universal Theme Parks Worldwide
Good news for gamers for have longed to experience their favorite Nintendo stories, characters and environments in the real-world sans AR device: On Tuesday, November 29, the iconic Japanese company announced plans to open themed areas dedicated to its famous game properties in three Universal theme parks across the globe.
The Universal theme parks located in Hollywood, Orlando and the city of Osaka in Japan will soon undergo construction as Nintendo-themed lands, similar to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter located in Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park, are installed.
According to an official press release, the planned project will feature "expansive, immersive and interactive experiences" built around the characters and worlds created by Nintendo, including properties like the Mario and Legend of Zelda games.
The themed areas will also include rides, shops and restaurants to make guests, regardless of age, feel "as if they are playing inside their favorite [video] games."
The attractions will open in separate parks "over the next several years," according to Nintendo.
