Excitement is building for the next film in the The Hunger Games series, 'Mocking Jay Part 1,' which releases Friday. Will you be watching it opening weekend?

I ask, because there was a time when I would wait in line for hours in the cold to be a part of the opening weekend success of a movie. At midnight on June 4, 2004, I was in my seat with popcorn, soda and candy waiting to see Harry Potter work his magic in the 'Prisoner of Azkaban.'

Over the years I continued to attend midnight premieres of major blockbuster franchises, but on June 24, 2010 my streak came to an end. That date was the opening night for 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.' I love movies; I like to let myself delve into the story when I'm in a theater, so when three rude young women began talking loudly during 'Eclipse,' it unnerved me.

That night I decided not to attend the midnight premiere ever again. Those three young women ruined my experience. I go to movies to escape for a couple of hours and enter into someone else's story.

I didn't pay $10 to experience the story of the girls sitting in front of me. I went to the theater to see the film on the big screen, and while I am excited to see what's next for Katniss in 'Mocking Jay Part 1,' I'll probably go on a week night.

What about you?
