Three games into the 2013 NBA Finals, and the veteran San Antonio Spurs are showing why experience counts in big games.

While the Miami Heat were the favorite to with the NBA title, the Spurs aren't some collection of scrubs. They have long been a dominant team in the West, and now have a 2-1 lead over the younger Heat. San Antonio beat down Miami in Game 3, 113-77. In that win the Spurs hit 16 three-pointers.

Game 4 will be Thursday in San Antonio, but the Spurs could be without veteran point guard Tony Parker, who was injured in Game 3. Without Parker's leadership, the Spurs may struggle to take on Miami's big three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. A win would give them a 3-1 lead, which isn't insurmountable for Miami, but it would put them on the very brink of defeat.
