Whataburger turns 71 this month and local restaurants are celebrating by making donations all this week to the West Texas Food Bank.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, if you donate $1 to Feeding America at any local Whataburger location, the money raised will go to the West Texas Food Bank now through Sunday.

Everyone who donates will also get a coupon for a free burger on their next visit with the purchase of a medium order of fries and a 32 oz. drink.

Orange Spirit Week 2021 is what they are calling it and for the first time they are conducting this company wide fundraiser.

The campaign is covering 10 states and is expected to provide 2.5 million meals.

All the money raised will go to Feed America and its member food banks, that includes the West Texas Food Bank.

This all supports the burger chain's main community program Whataburger Feeding Student Success which helps students of all levels of education achieve their goals.

So next time you get that craving for Whataburger, remember to donate to help out students as well as the community through the West Texas Food Bank.

That way the food insecure will get the help they need by getting the food they need and you will feel better about helping out and having the satisfaction that only a Whataburger can provide you.

But make sure you get in sometime this week because it runs through this Sunday, August 15, 2021.
