Traffic Alert: ‘A’ Street in Midland Temporary Closed For Utility Work

For those of you commuting around downtown Midland, "A" Street will be closed for utility improvements.

According to NewsWest 9, the portion closed is between Wall Street and Texas Street but the block between Illinois and Texas will be restricted to southbound traffic only.

The Wall and "A" Street intersection will be completely closed but Missouri Ave. will be open as a detour.

This is a part of the 2017 Road Bond project to rebuild "A" Street between Cuthbert and Indiana approved by voters.

Water and sewer lines will be completely replaced along with storm drains.

There is no indication as to how long the project will take but without any problems like what happened with the Golf Course and Midkiff intersection which took twice as long to get completed, the project will hopefully be done by next summer.
