Since COVID-19 caused most things we loved to be eliminated, the one thing I miss most is the huge block of cheese they put on the table at The Barn Door.

They still put the cheese on the table but it is a much smaller block of cheese than what it used to be pre-COVID.

That is the one thing that made going to The Barn Door so special and fun, but they still have the best steaks in town and the baked potato is awesome too.

The atmosphere is a great one too making you feel like you are stepping back in time, and speaking of stepping back in time, the restaurant has not changed much since I was a kid and the relocation of the Pecos Depot to the Barn Door is a blast from the past as well.

So if you are new to the area and even if you live in Midland, it is worth the drive to head to Odessa and have yourself an awesome steak cooked the way you want it and enjoy the new block of cheese which you can actually take home with you after you get done with your meal which is a good thing that changed since COVID invaded our lives.

Just goes to show you that you don't have to make a trip to Wisconsin to get the best tasting cheese, you just have to get yourself to the Barn Door to enjoy that steak and cheese.
