Texas Tech Shooter Was Pulled Over and Questioned About Stolen Gun Hours Before Shooting
Hollis Daniels was pulled over just hours before he shot an killed a Texas Tech Officer.
According to NewsWest 9, Daniels was pulled over on Monday morning after police received a report of a terroristic threat and a stolen weapon.
LPD searched the suspect then asked consent to search his car which Daniels refused. Police decided they did not have probable cause to search the vehicle and released the suspect.
Later Texas Tech police were called on a person with a weapon behaving erratically, this prompted the welfare check on Daniels that resulted in the death of Officer Floyd East, Jr.
Daniels is now facing federal gun charges and was charged with possession of a stolen firearm by a federal grand jury on Wednesday.
