I'm all for being #1 in almost anything. Let's be real, Texans are competitive, if you want to say we are #1 as far as the best food in the nation, I would wholeheartedly agree. Best dressed, best manners, best drivers, best hospitality, all things I would 100% say we should be known for, but I certainly did not see this one coming, nor am I happy about it.

The top 5 most haunted states (counting from 5-1) are Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, California and TEXAS in that order. Our state is #1 most haunted, I can't take it!

So why is Texas the most haunted state in the nation? Are ghosts just roaming the streets and I don't even realize it? Is every house in Texas haunted? Is mine!!! I'll move!

According to Treetopia, who compiled this lovely list for us, Texas has had 7,315 ghost sightings to date. Wait a minute, have you seen a ghost? Are there ghosts roaming the halls of the B93 studios? Actually, there is but that is another story for another day.

With that being said, El Paso, Texas is the most haunted city with 192 ghost sightings. Well, thank goodness Midland or Odessa do not hold that honor. Thoughts? What do you think hearing this news? Are you hoping you will eventually see a ghost living in the most haunted state in America or are you indifferent? Or have you already come face to face with the dead? Spooky Halloween fellow Texans, may your hauntings be plenty tonight...
