President Obama again made his case for action against Syria in a speech from the East Room of the White House on Tuesday night while asking the House and Senate to put off a vote a vote on military action.
Congressman Mike Conaway (R) says that he and the people in his district are not behind the President's plan to attack Syria on it's use of chemical weapons.
President Obama said today he will seek approval from Congress before taking any military action against Syria. Obama said he believes military action is necessary.
Secretary of State John Kerry described how the government in Syria, led by President Bashar al-Assad, used chemical weapons in an attack on its own citizens, killing 1,429 people, including 426 children. The problem? Kerry (reportedly) used a photo from the 2003 Iraq War. Kerry then suggested that the United States must respond, or take the chance that other dictators might act similarly.
