A Starbucks barista in Midland was attacked Saturday after asking a customer to wear a mask.

According to NewsWest 9, it happened at the Starbucks location at Midland Drive and Loop 250.

Saturday morning at around 8:30, the Midland Police Department received a call to the Starbucks location after the barista was attacked by the customer when he told him he could not serve him until he was wearing a mask.

The customer fled the scene after the attack but was found by police a few blocks away where he was arrested and charged with Assault and Criminal Trespass.

A mental evaluation was requested by Midland Police on the man charged in the case.
