Sinead O'Connor has posted a chilling video to Facebook in which she details being abandoned as a result of mental illness and suicidal thoughts, but adds she's hopeful her honesty might help someone who's suffering similar hardship.

O'Connor shared video with the caption "I Made This Video Because I Am One Of Millions" last week to Facebook in which she chronicled the hardship of contending with three different mental illnesses, and how the symptoms of her condition have left her totally isolated, save for her psychiatrist who calls her his "hero."

“Why are we alone? People who suffer from mental illness are the most vulnerable people on Earth,” she said. “You’ve got to take care of us. We’re not like everybody.”

O'Connor said that being observed as an "angry woman" who's "suicidal" has left those she loves confused about how to approach her and scared of getting close — that, she noted, has amounted to two years of nearly total isolation.

"I just want to make this video so you all could see what the f--- it’s like,” she continued. “It’s the stigma that’s killing people, not the mental f------ illnesses...If you have a family member that suffers from mental illness, care for them, tenderness, love, care for them. Visit them in the hospital, don’t dump them in the hospital and bugger off.”

O'Connor previously posted what seemed like a suicide note to Facebook in 2015, in which she wrote "The last two nights finished me off. I have taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I’m at a hotel, somewhere in Ireland."
