Shaquille O’Neal Pays For Funeral of 7-Year-Old Shot in Houston

Former NBA Player Shaq plans to pay for the funeral of a 7-year-old girl that was shot and killed last week.

According to NewsWest 9, the four-time NBA champion presented the family with a cashier's check to Jazmine Barnes' family to cover the expenses of the girl's funeral.

On December 30, 2018, Jazmine was in a car with her mother and three sisters when another vehicle opened fire on their car and one of the shots hit her in the head.

A manhunt went on for a week before 20-year-old Eric Black, Jr. was arrested and charged with capital murder on Monday.

A second person that was already in jail for drug possession is also a suspect in the shooting.

Authorities believe the act was a case of mistaken identity.

Jazmine Barnes was laid to rest today, January 8, 2019.
