We've all seen the numerous articles about restaurants and entertainment we wished we had here in the Basin. In & Out Burger, etc etc. Now, let's talk about SERVICES we wish we had here. Because let's face it... This area is unique in many ways with many different forces at work every day to shape our lives, not only on a daily basis but even hourly in some cases. Where do we begin?

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE CONSTANT WIND.

Chicago was nicknamed "The Windy City", but that was due to an upcoming Political Convention coming to the city. A newspaper columnist was referring to all of the hot air coming out of the Politician's mouths--and the nickname was born. Midland and Odessa, on the other hand, are literally the windy cities. Nothing metaphoric about it. And depending on the time of the year-our storms here can get pretty epic. So what are the byproducts of living in such a windy place? How about a service where they come and put everything back where it goes on your patio after a storm and the wind blowing everything around? Or on trash day when it's bad--after the Garbage trucks come and go, they put your trash can away so you don't come home from work that evening and find it blown 6 houses down the block on the opposite side of the street?

THEN THERE'S THE DIRT AND DUST....

You can't open and close your car doors over a few days' time just getting in and out--and not have a layer of dirt sitting on top of your seats and dashboard and door frames. This is why car washes do so well here. But that doesn't help the patio furniture, grill tops, and tables from a layer of caked-on dirt. How about a Dirt and Dust removal service to take care of all those things? Just a few ideas for entrepreneurs who are sitting at home thinking about what they could be doing to make a buck. Comment your ideas below and let's see if we can't get some extra help around here with stuff we need that's not offered.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
