Online Searchers Greeted With Selena Tribute From Google on Tuesday
If you did an online search on Google yesterday, you were greeted with an animated video of the Tejano singer Selena.
According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, Google creates what they call "Doodles" for special days or events, and for those using the popular search engine on Tuesday got a "Doodle" featuring an animated child to adult stream of Selena, the beloved Tejano singer.
Yesterday, October 17, marked the anniversary of Selena's first self-titled studio album released in 1989.
A spokeswoman for Google said they felt it was the perfect opportunity to celebrate Selena's legacy as well as honoring Hispanic Heritage Month.
