As the winter storm hits us today, the Salvation Army is preparing for the cold temperatures.

According to NewsWest 9, the Salvation Army is preparing 20-30 extra meals and cleared out the cafeteria to place cots in there to accommodate the rush of people needing a warm place to sleep.

But due to social distancing guidelines, they have had to use the extra space but reduce their capacity.

They are expecting more people to show up as the area sees colder temperatures over the next few days.
