The latest trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 is full of new dialogue and sequences that reveal plenty of new details about the sequel, but even if you watched this trailer on mute it’s a beauty. (But actually don’t watch it with the sound off because Jóhann Jóhannsson’s score is like synth porn for the ears.)

Set 30 years after the events of the Ridley Scott original, Blade Runner 2049 finds Ryan Gosling’s Officer K in California in the titular year. He meets up with Dave Bautista and the two have a quick and dirty kitchen brawl. Then we get a look at a blind Jared Leto who is definitely playing ‘the bad guy’ here. We get an extended look at Harrison Ford’s return as Deckard when he meets up with Gosling, plus Robin Wright’s character and some stellar action sequences. Here’s the full synopsis:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Blade Runner 2049 also stars Mackenzie Davis, Ana de Armas, and Sylvia Hoeks. The sequel will finally hit theaters on October 6 in all its gorgeous Roger Deakins-lit glory.
