Ryan Gosling Smolders in a Classic Tux at the 2017 Oscars

Actor Ryan Gosling could not have smoldered harder as he walked the red carpet at the 2017 Academy Awards on Sunday, February 26. The actor posed alone, leaving longtime partner Eva Mendes at home, in a classic black tuxedo given some texture by a ruffled shirt and shiny leather shoes.

Gosling is nominated for Best Actor for playing Sebastian in La La Land. Gosling was also given an Oscar nod for the same category for his role in Half Nelson in 2006.

Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the 89th Annual Academy Awards ceremony takes place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, February 26, broadcast live on ABC beginning at 8:30 PM EST. The 2017 Academy Award nominees were announced on January 24.
