The Red Cross is planning to do free installations of smoke detectors to high risk areas in Ector County.

According to YourBasin.com, volunteers will be doing installations of free smoke alarms to areas deemed as "high risk" areas for fires at the end of this month.

The Red Cross is hoping to help eliminate some of the situations where they have to assist a family after a fire by helping to prevent it beforehand.

Volunteers are needed to help with the installations later this month, to help them out just call the Red Cross at 432-563-2267.
